This is a good one.. The main reason vintage iron sounds vintage is it's age..Like Blues says...

Who orders the fresh wine!!..

If you looking for blueprinted repros of vintage amps Mercury Mags has a Tone Clone series advertised as being constructed much like the vintage iron of old( Still doesn't sound like old iron to me).. Be prepared to throw down.. Taint cheap.. Good Luck..

I'v used Heybour, Mercury Magnetics, Magentics Components but nothing sounds like old iron. Search around on ebay and Craigslist for old tube amps, especally the hybrids from the 70's and you'll find some gold mines. I bought 3 Peavey hybrids for under $50 each and converted them to Dumbles. They all sound great.
