We don't, I moved my family over here from Eureka in July 5 years ago for work and we still haven't adjusted. Luckily we live up in the mountains a bit so it's 8-10 degrees cooler than down in the valley where I work.
I'll say one more thing about the glue's then I'll shut up..It's not really so much that the glue's like the 77 lose there ability to adhere it's really at what tempature they begin to vaporize.. Since tolex is a non pores type covering there is no place for the gas to escape once it begins to produce these vapors under extreme conditions as it begins to breakdown (This actually causes the separation).. We share a shop with and upholstery company that does automotive repairs so they need to be cognizant of the gasses being released due to temperature variations in all there adhesives... since some can be rather toxic within a confined space.. This is what actually causes the seperation or under extreme conditions can bubble up..If the covering is pores it's not as critical..Just thought I would throw this in.. On with the hot topic..

I've used the water based contact cement on several of my amps. They've held up fine so far.
You've got me wondering about the 3M 77 though. I use that to stick on aluminum flashing as a chassis cover. With a tubes up amp it gets a bit of heat so I wonder if it will eventually peel.
