Local feedback

Post by txbluesboy »

Is there any real reason to use two 10 meg resistors , one on each side of the .22 uf cap, on V1a of a dumbelator, rather than 1- 20 meg?

Actually it is 4 10M resistors or two 22M for a total of 40M or 44M if 22M resistors are used.

The cap should connect to the plate and the two or four resistors in series to the grid.
I put a switch on mine. I soldered a wire between the two 22M resistors and ran that to a on/off switch with the other leg going to ground.

Works very well. Gives it a bit more rawness or openess.

If we're talking about V1b (the return side) it's 20-22m on a D Lator not 44M. I used one 22M on mine. Don't think it matters but I put it on the grid side of the .22uf.

Yes - V1a on that schematic. The one I used labels them the other way. One 20-22M is fine.

ARRGGGGggg, guess that teaches me to skim a post and answering it before I read it completley.....

Sorry here is how mine ended up.

I did use two 10M resistors but if you want you can use one 20M.
I would put the cap to the plate if doing it that way.

Just a reminder don't forget to use the first PS node to the return amp..

Voltages should be 255V range on the pin 1 of the cathode driver section. Around 28-31V on pin 3 if using the 27K/1.8K combo.
If the cathode voltage is off slightly you can adjust to taste a few K either way
The recovery amp has 230-235V on pin 6.
The B+ is indeed in the 335V range.
Keep in mind also different tubes can very = - 5v either direction.. Hope this helps
