Since there's a lot of interest in this amp again here's some pics. This was built pre-D-Lite and I like to think it was one of the inspirations for this line of amps.
It's built in a standard Princeton chassis. The rectifier tube hole was used for a can cap for the first filters, relays are 5V using the rectifier winding on the PT. The OT is a Deluxe reverb from Magnetics components (Triode electronics on ebay) and the PT is a Princeton replacement from AES.
As you can see it's a tight squeeze. I used small pots to allow room for the switches between the pots. The schematic is basically the Hybrid slightly modified but these mods are documented in the ODS101 file on the files page.

Sounds great Bob.
The overdrive sounds like it would work great on a lap steel.
Do you recall the HT voltage on the PT?
I have this Hammond organ PT but it puts out a lot of voltage.
This is the one where I added a 25v 25w Zener to drop the voltage to a manageable level.

Not on the PT but the B+ is around 380VDC.Structo wrote:Sounds great Bob.

I don't play lap steel but I play a lot of slide and yea, this amp is awesome for slide, really sings.

Re: My Princeton Dumble pics
Sounds good Bob! I will have more of a fitting problem as I am planning a #13 or as close as I can get so the Bassman iron is challenging. No reverb.
I may have to drop the combo plans I currently have (have one in stock!) and go head and 1x12 too. We shall see.
I have asked Great Plains Audio for dimensions of their Altec 417-8H to see if it will fit my combo. I may end up ordering one anyway as there does not seem to be any original 417C or H currently on the market, and the problem with the old ones is even if the cone is still good the surrounds tend to deteriorate so you're looking at a recone anyway. $200 plus a $150 recone, I can buy the brand new Great Plains model for that.

There is this one for a Princeton
http://www.tubesandmore.com/scripts/fox ... m=P-T290AX
And this one:
http://www.tubesandmore.com/scripts/fox ... =P-TF22772
They seem to have the same specs.
325v-0-325v @ 70ma
6.3v @ 2A
5v @ 2A
The second one is $9 cheaper.

Check out the TP-25 from Allen amps http://allenamps.com/parts.php#transformers
I used it on my Princeton Reverb and I feel it gives more a tighter bottom end than the Princeton xformer because it can supply more current.

+1 on that TP-25. I used one in a single ended 14W with a blendable Plexi preamp and a JJE34L, all in a standard BFPR combo and it was the right iron. Nailed the Plexi tone. I think the SOZO caps helped too in that respect.
