Clean2 grid resistor?

I see that on most boards, the 220K input resistor to the grid of Clean2, is not included. I guess it's soldered directely to the volume pot?

Why isn't this resistor placed on the board?

Tommy, it's soldered direclty to the tube socket, not the volume pot.
