Let me know what you hear, because I'm feeling that I'm finally getting the bloom I've been looking for.

Great clip Bob. Definately some tasty dark chocolate tone. I think a little more air in the top would help, ala Erwin's comments. Either a smidge up on treb trimmer, or maybe a master bright cap.

I'd be interested in some comps comparing.

Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. I actually just reduced the master bright cap, but the treble pot could use a tweak.

I made the tweak, but another thing I have to do is swap the PUs in that guitar. I love the instrument, but the PUs are really dull. They're "Duncan Designed" Japanese made by ESP foe Edwards, and real blah.

I played through the amp after the treble tweak with an Epi Sheriton with Loller Imperials. Huge difference. Later I'll record another clip.

Bob I have a Schecter C1 Classic that has a Duncan 59 neck and JB bridge pickup that I like a lot.
They are medium output pickups.
I can recommend those as good humbuckers.

Looking forward to the new clip!
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

The pickups that come in most of those Edwards guitars are the offshore version of the '59 neck and JB bridge. The neck is nice but the bridge is real, real middy.

Bob

FWIW.. Yeah!! Pups do make a big difference to my ears..and guitar as well..I remember a while back talking with Lindy and him mentioning his working with Robben to get him some Pups in the past and that at the time Robben didn't like a very hot PuP.. He would order lots of say 10 and pick out the best in the bunch..I think Lindy said he liked them in the mid 7K range neck low 8K.. bridge..Not that you want to sound like him or anything just thought I would throw that out there for refrence..The JB & 59 a classic set up and does sound wonderful.. Good Luck and enjoyed the clips by the way..

Offshore is a relative term. I bought that guitar in Japan so the Japanses salesman really talked the PUs up (as much as he could with sign language cauz I don't speak Japanese)

I agree on the bridge, but the neck is a little dull as well. Other than that, the guitar is beautiful, light, solid as a rock and looks really nice.
