HRM Skyliner clips

Post by stelligan »

Sloppy noodles of the HRM I tweaked so hard to like my Strats.

This is a humbucker guitar akin to a Tele thinline. No processing or computer voodoo. Guitar into amp, 2 x 12 Avatar open back cab with Emi Delta-Pro and WGS CL80, ribbon mic 2" from CL80 - Audix i5 2" from Delta Pro, Yamaha MagicStomp tape echo patch parallel in dumbleator:

Thanks for listening dcribbs! Yeah, we're working up the Marcus Miller take on Frankenstein for the combo I'm in and I have that tune on the brain. You need to check it out, if you haven't. Funkystein........

Thanks MrClean! Mostly tweaking the OD tone trimmers 'til I was blue in the face. The amp has a .01 mid cap, pre-OD trim @ 22.4k from ground(approx 1 o'clock), 20k mid trimmer @ 9:30, 1M bass trimmer @ 1:00, 250k treble trimmer @ 10:30. This clip has the OD gain on the front panel higher than I usually play the amp - at noon.

Very nice clips! Wish I could make my amp sound as alive... My playing is probably a big setback in that direction

My amp is similar, but with a 25k mid trimpot. What size is the pre-OD trimpot on yours? Mine's 22k. And I think I have it about 3/4 up...

Thanks for the compliment fabiomayo! The pre-OD trimmer is 25k on this amp - a little past 1 o'clock. As far as being alive sounding, I use big strings and pointy hard picks. That may contribute. The humbuckers in this guitar are actually very dark.......

Thanks Ange! 12's on Gibson scale necks, 11's on Fenders. Yeah, I got some teaser pictures of the amp tonight. 2nd drive channel of this amp is HRM as well. Looking forward to it.
