First Question
This is my first post and I just wanted to say hello before asking a question.
I've done a lot of reading here trying to get up to speed. Looks like the ODS 101 non HRM may be the one to build . Here is the schematic I'm looking at:https://tubeamparchive.com/download/file.php?id=1178 . I'd like to build a clone that will work well with a strat. Is this the one to start with or should I look elsewhere? Any opinions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

Re: First Question
The ODS-101 non HRM is one of the best schemos here IMHO. In terms of tone versatility, ease of build, and ease of playability.
Normster has some layout diagrams that wok well with this schemo.
And get some good bassman or better iron. It really makes a difference.

it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds
						Re: First Question
Thanks for the reply Briane. I currently have some iron that was designed to be used in a Bassman. The OT is not the best around but will work for now until I can upgrade. Is the layout by Normster posted somewhere? I drew one up and it would be nice to have one to check against. In going back and forth between schematic and layout labeling values, I've been known to make mistakes.

Re: First Question
There is a HOST of information in the "Dumble Files" section. "Search" is your very good friend.

Re: First Question
You can use the #124 layout and just substitute the values from 101 in it.
I think most here would agree that the #124 is a very good one, unless you want to go with the precision power supply, then you will have to change a few things.
Here is a chassis layout that may help. Or you can buy a premade one from that guy online, he has an ad in the for sale section.
Here is a Ceriatone layout that has what looks like the precision supply for reference.

Re: First Question
I don't think there ever was a layout of it.
There a re a few schematic versions of it, HRM and non HRM.
I have these.

Re: First Question
Norm did a Bluesmaster layout.
Not sure if this is the one you are thinking of, simple matter to copy the parts you like.

Re: First Question
Thanks Structo. I mis-read an earlier post by Briane and thought he said that there was a layout of a non HRM done by Normster. After re-reading the post I see he said Normster had done some layouts that work well with the schematic I'm working with. My mistake, sorry.

Re: First Question
Thanks Tom.
I finished a layout of the 101 Non HRM. Had to do it the with pencil and paper since I don't know how to run any of the drawing programs. I did only the preamp tubes, pots, switches and board. Left out the power tubes, power supply and transformer wiring. I still need to go over it another 50 times to see if it has errors. These old eyes don't work as well as they once did
 .
I appreciate your time and help.
