ENGLISH Celestion G12H Anniversary 6402 Cones??

Celestion G12H Anniversary 6402 Cones?
"MADE IN ENGLAND" on back
Just bought a pair on ebay and they have biege basket with no datecodes,
Also, the cones are "6402"...
Does this seem right? All the other English G12H's I have are 1777 cones.
Help!

Well, I don't quite understand how 6402 cones got into G12H 30W speakers, but I'm certainly glad they did, these are the best G12H speakers I have ever experienced,
Wow! How ironic, I thought I had been ripped off on the eBay…

Glad to hear this. I have actually had some early Celestions reconed that were blown using the UK 444 cone (V30) and having amazing sonic results. Glenn on the forum was giving kudos to the smaller mag Creamback speaker, as well, which might be what I've ended up with - a 60-5 watt Blackback in my case and a G12-65 in Glenn's. Same magnets and probably the same cones and VC.
In the case of your speakers, to find out what the cone numbers mean, you need to contact Dr. Decibel at Celestion. They have been really helpful over the years. Basically, the important information is the wattage, which is based on the VC former type, i.e. paper, Kapton, aluminum, etc.
