Could someone just glance at this layout and tell me if it is a workable scheme? I want to switch between either of two speakers or run them both together. It's mainly to be able to compare the sounds of different speakers and the ability to run both is really a bonus. At this point, I'm not worried about any sonic advantages to speakers in series vs. parallel, though may pursue that somewhere down the road. As long as the parallel dummy load doesn't totally sap the sound of the 2 speakers in series it's fine. Its only intended purpose is to prevent the need to adjust the output impedance of the amplifier.

Well, the 16 ohm load will draw 50% of the amp power, same as the two 8 ohms speakers in series. Total load would be 8 ohms as you realize.

In any case, the amp will be fine running the two speakers in 16 ohms - I would try this for a 25% drop in power. That's better than 50%, eh?
