VERY cool as always Geeze!

Can I ask how you are annodizing the aluminum? I have a small aluminum project coming up that would benefit from a nice black annodizing job like that.

Hi Dave,

I work for a manufacturing company that uses anodize, oxide and nitride finishes on our parts. The lot charges run $150 to $250 depending on process. I stick my bits in with the company parts. I think my owner takes pity on me as I am building guitar stuff instead of chasing women.

The finish is a type III hard anodize. I chucked the rods up in a drill press and polished with 0000 steel wool, 600 & 1000 grit sand paper. For a matte finish bead blast before anodize.

Chat up aluminum finishers in your area and see if you can't sneak parts into a batch.

That's not an amp!! It's a work of ART!!
Beautiful stuff...
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

Thanks for the advice Geeze!

Yep...I have pulsed the local annodizing shops and am hearing about the same regarding cost. I haven't (delicately) asked about slipping in my single small piece into a batch though.
