Very nice. Looks to be a harder build than a flat out clone, but benefit of compact size. Is the 100mA choke holding up ok?

Over at Hoffman there are a couple of threads discussing the PT, OT and choke in there. The info is buried possibly in a lot of give and take.

My understanding is the amp is incredible, he did say to change the 100k to 220k on the speed pot

Is the 100mA choke holding up ok?

The choke seems to be doing very well. The longest I've had it running so far has been 6 hours. The choke was slightly warm. I think it will be fine.

It's my understanding that the 100mA rating is not a maximum current rating, although it's a guideline for max. More importantly, the specified Henries is measured at that 100mA current. Less current means less inductance, more current means more inductance (up to core saturation).

I tacked a 1Ω resistor across the STBY switch to actually measure total B+ current. This amp is idling at exactly 100mA. I used the 193B choke because I had it on hand. If I had to buy one I'd probably go for the 193G which is rated 10H @ 150mA.
