Express Feet
Anybody got pictures of what the real Express' screw off feet look like? I am trying to finish up my BOM.
Here's what I can deduce so far on the bottom plate / cabinet / feet setup:
"Use 14 #6X3/8" screws to hold it (the bottom plate) to the chassis. Then use nutserts by drilling 3/8" holes in the center of the embossed feet. Use 1/4-20 screws to insert in the nutserts through the cabinet if you want it to be TW "Correct"."
Per Allynmey...
So there are 4 large round (rubbber??) feet that are about .75" tall. A 1/4-40 machine screw (bolt) goes through the foot, then the Cabinet itself. It is screwed into the nutserts attached to the chassis bottom plate to attach the chassis securely to the cabinet. That all makes sense- but I need to determine what the feet are, and the length of the attachment bolt.
Any insights here would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Express Feet
That's another part that gets glossed over on everyone's build. Here's a decent shot of an Express named Nancy from E-Bay last year. I trust those were the "bone stock" footsies. They're about 7/8"~ 1" dia. by 3/4"~1 inch high. But I've never been up close to one to confirm this. I have though looked at an awful lot of rubber feets and can tell you they rarely if ever are capable of accepting a freakin' 1/4 X 20TPI. The rubber feet with a molded in steel washer is by far the longer lasting type if you have a choice. Good Luck, NG [IMG:800:451]http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r222 ... stence.jpg[/img]

Re: Express Feet
Thanks for the info NG. The intent here is to build a BOM that's as accurate and complete as possible.
Maybe I'm just being anal... but I've yet to see a BOM here that was much more than a list of electronic components. Not being critical, just an observation.
Anywho, once I get these feet sorted, I will post my BOM for forum review and critique.

Re: Express Feet
I own an original Express and searched quite hard to find some feet that looked as close as possible for my pair of self built clones. The original feet by the way aren't solid rubber, but a molded rubbery plastic with some support ridges molded in on the inside. I found some feet from a road case company that look VERY close, the only difference is they are just a hair shorter. Same basic look, and they are a rubberized molded plastic like the originals. I got mine at a local music store, part # CP30 but I found this link on the web for some.

On the original Express the 1/4" bolts (with washers) strictly hold the chassis with the nutserts installed on the (attached to the chassis) ground panel. The feet are installed with separate sheet metal type screws straight into the wood.

Would you mind posting a photo of the bottom of your real TW? I'd like to see the relative positioning of the screwed-in feet vs. the 1/4-20 bolts/washers.
Thanks,
Steve
Re: Express Feet
i use P-H9310 from CEDIST.. if you go to their site.. and click amp parts..then feet..they are toward the bottom.. they may not be the exact thing as the original..but they are nice rubber feet about the same size as orignial..and they are rubber, with the washer made into them..really nice feet for amps. They also are peavey feet.. CEDIST have quite a bit of feet to choose from in the listing..
The feet i listed come with mounting screws, but don't use them on a wreck cab, they are too long..

Re: Express Feet
Steve- I have a picture from a real wreck showing the feet in the build guide, exactly what you want.
Richie- you can get those at Antique Electronics Supply for those of us whole have to use their retail site (www.tubeandmore.com). How difficult was it to register as a business with them???

Re: Express Feet
I used Audioquest feet on my build, the same as Alessandro. Despite the nice look, it's very efficient dampening cab vibration. I found lookalike
on ebay, maybe a bit harder too.
Really usefull.

Re: Express Feet
The chassis bolts do not go through the feet. They are 1/4-20 X 1-1/2". They go through the cabinet into nutserts that are mounted on a Bud Industries bottom Plate. The embossed feet of the bottom plate house the nutserts. The feet mount next to the chassis bolts and are screwed into the cabinet.
Re: Express Feet
