Well i've taken the plunge and decided to order the parts for a liverpool. I've ordered a custom chassis from Nik, transformers from Moose, and will be ordering the rest of the parts later this week. What caps would you guys recommend? I've been leaning towards Mallory 150's because there cheaper than tracking down the Mallory PVC's. Will it make that much of a difference in tone?
Thanks,
Andy

150s are fine. They're a very good standard and fairly priced. A cheaper alternative are the yellow polyesther caps you can get places like AES -- I've used them and like them as much as the 150s.
I really like Sozos, and think they suit this style circuit. They're a good alternative for not much more money.
I prefer Atoms for PS caps. About the best not super-expensive electrolytic around these days.

WOOHOO!!!! I just got most of my parts to start my Liverpool clone today! Thanks Moose, those transformers look great! Nik did a great job on my Liverpool and Express chassis also! Now to get the board made. I have to wait for my order from McMaster to show up for the PS board... that and i forgot to order sockets for the tubes and they won't be here for another couple of days, but i'm off and running now!
