I noticed alot of design issues regarding voicing in regards to reverse engineering the twrex . I would like to point out that that they were designed to use a certain tube compliment . I don't know about you but the express was specifically designed around the german el-34 . and exclusively for mullard and brimar as well in the pre amp . In addition the transformers are the same . I would recomend taking a tube you currently admire like a svetlana or such and go after your transformer specs . This is the most sensitive amp compliment you may ever find . Lead dress trans orientation and layout become increasingly important as well . A set of tubes within a miliamp , matched and which one sounds best in what socket is wh at I'm talking about here . Increadible detail and discerning balance is what your after . Then it needs to be voiced to your liking . Are you with me . Any c omments.... David
