where do you get your power trannies???

i'm about to start my 1st wreck here in france and wondered if moose's trannies were available with 220/240v primaries...

They're not but if you ask Moose he'll put you on to Phil at Heyboer and you can get this one made in a single 240V or 120V/240V (as I've just done) specification.

I went for dual 120V primaries so I could use them in the UK or the US by means of a voltage selector switch.

Actually, as I've just noticed you're in France, Phil can probably wind a 220V version instead (or have you actually changed to 230V yet?).

Or maybe you could try Shinrock in Germany - it would be much cheaper on the shipping...

Shinrock is temporarily closed due to Ingo's ill health so it's not the solution at the moment. I think that even when he's back on his feet he's likely to have bit of a backlog, which is a shame as I'd like to try some of his transformers for another project.

Shipping for a pair of PTs from Heyboer was something like $65 which, with the current Dollar rate, was pretty good. The cost of the iron was good too.

I have a Ceritone Express and they are available with European voltage primaries. In fact, Nik's tranny has a 220v tap and a 240v tap and they are available seperately - www.ceriatone.com

I'm very happy with ESO (Electra Sud Ouest) power and output transformer. They are in Toulouse and here: http://magnetic.com.free.fr/index.html
They will make the iron you want (just give them datas) at reasonable price.
I bought (2month ago) a 8k/8/4 ohms 20% screen for a 18w (UL is sounding better with 20% in my 18lite) in the 60euros range.
I also ordered a 70W UL43% output transformer according to the KT77 MOV datasheet for my "route77" in the 100euros range (but copper was cheaper for this one).
The only problem i encountered was with their carrier ?hexapack? who didn't find my house in a small corsica village( hey! just ask anybody here! everybody in the village know where i live and you don't need my mobile number )
ESO is known by french HIFI guys (ptsounlab etc..) and now from guitaramp guys (projet g5).
