low B+ voltages
how do you measure b+ voltages on the amp. i tubed it, fired it up, and measured the voltages and was lower than what's on the schematic. the amp seems to work fine and sounds good. it doesnt clean up much though with the volume knob.
Re: low B+ voltages
Measure B+ at the first filter cap after the rectifier diodes or at the out side of the diodes thamselves, several places have the same voltage, with the sdandby in the play position you should have 400V DC or in that area, the Kelly schematic version A1b has the B+ voltages listed. I have built 2 Wreck Express & neither cleans up well with a Les-Paul or powerful hummbuckers in genral, Plug in a strat or a Tele & its a beuatiful thing.

Re: low B+ voltages
just measured again as you stated. the first b+ is 402. then it goes to 360. then it goes to 295. i forget what the other readings were. is that accurate enough? it does sound good. although, i used hot glue to glue down the caps and now whenever i turn it on it smells like hot glue. is that normal?

Re: low B+ voltages
Anyone correct me if I am wrong...B+1 screen resistor on the side of the stanby switch, B+2 on the other side of the screen resistor. There should be a diffence in voltage which in your amp appear to be 40V if you are measuring B+2 that is. On my express there is a 10 or 15v difference.
