Yeah, it's 1/8" board from WTA, and very beefy indeed. He offers two lengths of eyelets and you are correct that they are the longer of the two. The caps I assume you're referring to are the PI caps and those are 716Ps. They're pretty skinny and taller than the 6PS. Inexpensive PPs and pure copper leads. I dig!

I am thinking of trying that as well on my 18w Rocket as it has so flippin' much gain it really has no need to go beyond 10 o'clock so I thought that might give me more control over the gain using the vol. knob.
Kinda like to hear your thoughts on that JJ V1 tube. I have a balanced one I bought for a PI, and I didn't like it there, but maybe V1 is a better place?
I had it hanging where the 220k and PI entrance cap meet. I didn't solder it in. I just wrapped the lead around that tiny jumper on the board and clipped the other end to the ground buss. You'll definitely hear a reduction in gain and more richness in overdrive. It's a great mod for that, but the cleans aren't as good IMO, like I said.
As for that JJ... It's a
fancy JJ.

It actually is kind of nice, with gold pins and what not. It has a longer plate and has a nice, fat tone, working great for V1. I put it there because I'm using triple mica TAD 7025s and those are short plates with less gain. They're pretty darn quiet! Very chimey, too. Longer plates seem to have more gain and in a higher gain amp, like a LP or Express, can be pretty noisy. I wouldn't mind those TADs in every spot, though. I tried them out in a couple other amps and really dig them. Very nice tubes for modern production.
