Express Filter Capicitors

Post by joe6v6 »

Im putting together a new Express and I’ve got all the parts, chassis, cab & everything ready to go. My question is regarding the filter caps. I see several different versions of filtering floating around, the one I have already built uses 50-50-40 , 20-20-20 and I’m very happy with the way it sounds. The one im putting together now I have 40-40-40 , 16-16-16 the 40's are sprages & the 16's are mallorys . What I would like are thoughts, suggestions & opinions on how this will sound & if I should do something different, the last thing I want is to put it all together & have to take it apart. I’ve done a lot of work on this amp & once I put it together I want to leave it that way. . . Let me know what you guys think. .

No difference... Those values are all within 20% of each other.
