Couldn't find this minor detail with a search, and even wondered why I'm asking instead of guessing from the photos. But there's nothing floating around from the side with the feet in view.
What distance are the rubber feet set in from the edges of the cab bottom?

I don't think this matters that much... I chose to use the bolt through the feet on my cab to attach the chassis to the cab as well...

Are you kidding? For you guys who put exactly the "right" number of twists in the heater wiring, this is an equally important detail.Randy Magee wrote:I don't think this matters that much...
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com
Re: Trainwreck Cab Feet Spacing
Of course it does!! It balances the acoustic coupling of the cab in relation to the speaker cabinet!! But only if you put it on top of it!! The 4 rubber feet will have a vibration ratio according to the surface of wood that they affect. 4 corners of the cab vs. 4 chassis screws!! The vibration of the cab transfers to the chassis creating an acoustic effect since the chassis is microphonic!!xtian wrote:Are you kidding? Does it sounds like BS?
Re: Feet....
Talk about obscure cultish detail - which is why we're all here. I saved that shot of Ingrid's bum, hubba hubba!redshark wrote:This pic of Ingrid will give you an idea.....

I got lazy and tried that once and even though it seemed sound I feared the spongy flexiness of the feet would make for a poor connection to the heavy amp inside. Too close to having the heavy chassis loosely bolted, or that could too easily loosen. I also never knew how much to squish down to achieve 'tight enough'. I couldn't sleep, it lasted less than a day. I know, we should all have such worries.

Thanks heaps Redshark. Exactly the sort of photo I was looking for but couldn't find.
My build is far from a clone, but I've followed the cab plans for dimensions and figured I might as well drill the feet holes in roughly the right spot.
