6v6 Rocket build

Post by Mainetone »

Hi all,
I built a 6v6 rocket using a Stancor 8404 pt, it has 250v secondaries. Im reading 326v bplus2. The amp sounds great but it wont give me the harmonic feedback I get from my other wreck clones. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Rockets are smooth easy going amps, if you want more balls add 25uf/25v bypass cap to V1b cathode resistor.

You could also use that unused triode of V2 as a gain circuit.

I've tried a lot of different things with my rocket build I found the stock circuit with a range master in front of it to sound better than any of the mods I tried for more gain.

Well it looks cheap they are mounted in electrical boxes.the work is so shoddy I would never let anyone look inside much less sell it.both have been through a flood and are caked with mud but still work

It makes the my rocket think I'm Brian may. tie yo mamma down

I added the 25uf cap to the cathode resistor and got some more gain, I ultimately changed the pt to a 600v got the bplus up and the amp screams.
Thanks

Did you adjust the dropping string to keep the V1 voltages down?
