Rocket Big Brother..KT66

Post by JoeCon »

Guys

I finished the Rockster KT66 amp started last July. Sure slow builder and all but it had NO problems when I first hooked it up as I went over each section so slowly...LOL.

Anyways thanks to all who gave advice and RJ for posting that schematic that I worked from. Sounds great! This build I expanded my building technique by including a PPIMV. I slowly learning all the circuits that keep expanding my knowledge. Next NFB with cathode bias and finally fixed bias circuit, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Mark

Thank you sir. A lot of that is from you and my earlier 2 EL84 build.

Now gotta start reading up on building some pedals for that pedal board. I'm really liking all the DIY stuff I've learned from everyone here. Just proves you are never too old to learn.

Looks great! You digging the Edcors? And where do you get those axial Nichicons, if you don't mind me asking? :)

Your welcome Joe.

I ordered the MKC1 it's like a Klon pedal but with more features and some removed. Waiting on e-caps before they ship.

Blackburn,

Yes the Edcors are nice. I used them in both the Twin Tube Rocket and Rockster KT66 I built so far. Inexpensive too. Nichicons from Mouser!

Dave,

Thanks much. Fun project. I'm sure I'll have some questions for you when I get to that Plexi 6V6 amp!!

Nick

Thanks. And those big bottles just sing. Thats why I went for the PPIMV in that build. Plus it adds another circuit to my building skills. That particular MV is really easy and works great.
