Low Voltage Asteroid
I converted my so called Dongbiter to an Astroid running a B+ of 308 volts. Installed a dumble type switching relay in place of the switch and can easily flip between what appears to be Rocket / Express type sounds. PT is a dual secondary off a Hammond E100 series organ. OT is a 50 watt Drake and the choke is a Hammond. PI is an octal 6SL7 set up off Aikens site. The amp tends to be a bit on the clean side compared to full voltage type Asteroid style builds and has a tad bit less volume. Somewhere in between an Express and an Asteroid.

Re: Low Voltage Asteroid
I really like the 6sl7 as a phase inverter in these builds. I built a 2 hole liverpool with a tube rectifier about the same plate voltage as you.....one of the few amps I used a 12ax7.....time to drill a bigger hole
anything worth doing, is worth doing right
Re: Low Voltage Asteroid
Same here, I'm putting together an Express with an all octal front end . I'll probably wind up listing this one in the for sale section. I always do

Here are some guts. It's a bit cramped in there in some spots
