Has anyone on the forum ever try to acid etch the face plates or chassis for their express?

I've done it for various things. Don't have any pics but it looks pretty cool. 
You can etch aluminum very well with Muriatic acid. It's HCl, and is a very strong acid so extreme care should be taken. It won't eat your hand off if you slip but it'll probably itch a little and stain you and your clothes.
It leaves a through that is dark and rough oxidized surface. You could leave it as is (i think the dark gray oxide looks pretty sweet) or you could paint the panel and then sand off the high plane to leave colored etching.
