Trainwrecking a 50w Marshall type amp suggestions
Who's boards should i go with? What about amp iron? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What is it that you want?
Express?
Octal Rocket?
If you're using a set of Marshall iron, your voltages may be too high.

He wants to do the Express front end on a Marshall power section.
Metro. Google "Wrecked Plexi". You can build it right on your pre-existing turret boad.

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Mark's 100W Marshall with an Express front end was awesome, and the same mods would apply to a 50 too.

too evh sounding.

That guy could play a twin reverb and it would be too EVH sounding. I wouldn't base it off his clips. He's probably playing EVH licks anyways.

Not sure if it's off topic, but I'm currently working on "Trainwreack layout" for an AX84 October with PPIMV and power scaling. That's basically a Marshall Superlead preamp with jumpered channels and a 6v6 power amp. I'll call it Plexi22

Got it. Thanks for translating that.Reeltarded wrote:He wants to do the Express front end on a Marshall power section.
Yes, that'll be pretty straightforward.
Re: Trainwrecking a 50w Marshall type amp suggestions
So a Komet Concorde 50w or Komet 60w then?

Pablo,
I built an amp similiar to what your layout is showing with hi and low gains.

Yeah, it is quite similar. I also built a similar preamp before, with a 4xel84 power section. It was originally a Ceriatone 18/36w, but ended up being channel switching (jcm800 / superlead preamp). I added another tube so that the input section was four triodes in parallel (two bright, two dark), like on most Mojave amps. I liked the result, I might do that on the plexi22 too (plexitootootoo??? I love this language...).

I don't know the Mojave amps and am curious about how you are applying these bright/dark pairings.
Re: Trainwrecking a 50w Marshall type amp suggestions
These are Mojave amps http://mojaveampworks.com/amplifiers/. I have used parallel input in most of my builds. My rocket has different cathodes for both input triodes, so I also halved the plate resistor. But in my 18/36w build, I just paralleled the first triodes, without changing cathode or plate resistor values (that's how Mojave amps are designed). The amp fattened and turned "juicier", without notable increase in gain. This is my previous build preamp schema.
