Resistor Question
I have another quick question regarding resistors. In the A4 version of scematics I noticed that the Filter caps and power tube resistors don't specify a higher wattage for the resistors. I would assume that they need to be at least 2 watts (5 watts for the tubes) but I wanted to know what you guys think. I have the exact values for the filter caps (9.1k and 18.2k) but they're 1/2 watt and my tube resistors are 3 watt. Do I need higher values? I ask only because the schematic is very clear about most areas and this seems kind of weird.
Thanks,
Rick
BTW, here is a layout I did of the design for Version A4. Please feel free to review and correct if anything looks wrong.
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Resistor Question
I'd love to view the layout but all I see is a red "X"

Oggidog,
Don't know why you can't see it. It is pretty large but it comes up when I view this page. I could send it to you if you give me your address.
BTW, do you have an answer to my first question?
Thanks,
Rick

ricks57custom,
Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question. I'm pretting much on the low side of the learning curve of electronics, hence my interest in your layout and just importantly the responses of those here more knowledgable than I (everyone) that view it. I'm building a wreck now but am just doing the dummy work-- gathering parts, punching, drilling and assembling chassis and then sending it to someone who knows what they're doing for the rest. My email is oggidog@netscape.net. Thanks Jim.

Re: Resistor Question
You need 2W resistors for the power supply. Ken used two 9.1ks in series for 18.2k.
Re: Resistor Question
hmm... that's the same as Marshall plexi, right.

Re: Resistor Question
I'm an idiot. When I resized the board image I didn't move the wiring on the other side of the standby switch to the B+. I'll have to make that change ASAP. Any other slip-ups I made?
Rheingold, thanks for my confirming my assumptions about the resistors. I look forward to getting comments on the board before I make it.
Thanks all,
Rick

Re: Resistor Question
Found more mistakes on my layout. Please disregard my drawing until I have finished the corrections. I will repost soon.

Re: Resistor Question
OK guys,
I sat down and reatraced all my leads and I think I've got it right now. I realized that when I was rescaling some parts of the image I didn't move lead connections so there was tidying up to do. Here is the newest layout I did. I have added that newly mentioned master to it. I've got the rest of parts on the way, a chassis being built and transformers in my near future. Can't wait to build this thing. As I said before, if anyone sees glaring mistakes or weirdness let me know. Hope this works.

Re: Resistor Question
Update: My master is hooked up wrong on the layout. I knew something looked weird. The wiper should be hooked up to pin 7 on V2, the left lug to the .1uf cap and the right lug to the 1M/470/10k connection. Sorry for the screwup. Sometimes I feel like I can't do anything right. Can everybody see the new image?
Yes, I'm somewhat new to building amps and hopefully I'll get better with time. It's the first time I've converted a scematic to a layout.
