distorsion... help!!!

Yesterday I mounted my express clone from Nik...
checked everything yesterday and today.. all components are right (in value and position).. all tensions are right.
i have these 2 problems:
- very low distorsion: at half volume i have a little overdrive.. nothing more. even with strats that with les paul. sound quite trebled.. very low basses
- background noise
the second problem can be solved checking all connections again and move cables, about the 1st one i do not know what to do..
what do you think can be? It seem like i have less stages.. but tension arrives in every place

Check your tubes. Nik usually checks his amps with his own guitar prior to shipping

I checked again all connections and after that changed all 12AX7 tubes with ones I had at home... nothing changes. After that I re-soldered all connections in pre-board and tube sockets... something is better... less high tone.. bag again far from the distorsion I heard in the clips in this site.
Probably tomorrow I'll change all cables!
Any other ideas?
