So, which wood sounds best for a head cab

Post by gnugear »

I've been doing a ton of reading and it sounds like Ken is so into nuances that certain wood head cabs sound best with his amps.

So what's the verdict ... maple, rosewood, ect? :D

If you like Heavy Metal choose "Pau Ferro" , it would be a very "heavy" head amp ! :D

Well, my super strat has a walnut body and a maple neck ... I might need to tone it down with rosewood. :D

Cherry has to be cheaper than rosewood ... and equally as pretty :)

Damn!!! I just realised I tweaked the hell out of my amp but never had it in the cabinet.
Once I finish my nice Pine cab I will have to modify the circuit to suit the Pine cab.

No wonder my amp always sounded airy rather than an abundance of woody tones!
