Hello,
I'm rebuilding my 2006 express with proper components, wire and a VVR.
The amp use a modern OT, maybe a bit too HiFi and lots of volume. Overall it's nice and very dynamic but noisy and too much treble.
I've got some Dale (used in Dumbles) lying around and thought about using them as plate resistors to bring iddle noise down and maybe smooth highs a bit too. Still I don't want to loose the amp original voice.
I can experiment with both CF and Dale but as I plan to rebuild it properly I don't want to mess things up (i already did tryng different caps and resistors).
Anyway if anyone here had tried them in this circuit and really didn't like the results, please tell me so I can move on.
Thanks.
Tom

Tom, use 1 watt CF instead of 1/2 watt. The noise is lowered a bit in the early preamp.
