How different is a KF-50 from a K-60 type
Hi guys,
It's been a while. I'm back at work which means I'm getting close to having dough for another build.
I just can't figure out what to build. I LOVED my Komet K-60 but wanted voicing a little closer to Marshall and an amp that can handle pedals well. The k-60 is picky. I played a 1969 50 watt marshall yesterday and it was great. Insane over tones. Like a komet but with the more organic Marshall vibe.....
Am I describing a KF-50/concorde?
Or would I be better off going with a liverpool/Express and just rolling back the guitar volume to get the rhythm thing going on?
Any layouts of the K-50?
Thanks,
Sorry for all the questions...

Your email address didn't work by the way.
Not much difference between the two amps.
The concorde output tranny is 4.8K HTS-5526-1rh 4.8K primary.
There are some changes of using the unused triode to drive the PI need to send you the schematic for you to see the changes.

Wow,
I guess I've been gone longer than I thought. Sorry about that.
I just fixed the email.
I'd really like to see any schematics or layouts you have.
Thanks,
Paul

Interesting,
I changed it again and verified the change.
Sorry again for the trouble.

frischmann, looks like we're in the same boat.
After having build several wrecks and such, I keep coming back to my home-built Marshall, and I keep listening to clips of the KF-50/concorde and it really seems to combine the Marshall vibe with the wreck dynamics.
Anyway, my next build will be the KF-50.
Anyone with info I would be eternally grateful.

Re: How different is a KF-50 from a K-60 type
I believe the 3rd stage has 100k plate resistor, a 3k3 cathode resistor and feeds a jtm style cathode follower then into a .02 coupling cap and then a 220k resistor that feeds the phase inverter. The 3rd stage is fed from a 330k resistor. Solid state rectifier
anything worth doing, is worth doing right
