Maybe Ken later shared with Mike Zaite about using dual taps for the rocket and that is what the speed and comfort settings are on the Z-wreck. :D

Basically the 3 wreck amps could use same PT specs.

I could see easily going that high and sounding good with some nice Euro EL84s. Would you mind telling us the tube selection in your Rocket??

When i went to high voltage, I kept a set of NOS 6n14n Russian tubes( were the old Trainwreck type Ken used) because I didn't want to fry my Bugle Boys etc. I kept them in and tested them for about a year and they held up fine..sounded great. Then i was brave enough to put in a quad of telefunkens, and Bugle boy pre amp no 1, telefunken ribbed #2, and Bugle boy phase inv. Mullard rectifier. With the hogh volts you lose a little top end chime(still plenty of upper end tho) in exchange for a robust punchier mid and bottom. Works well with a closed back 4-12 now. In fact i prefer this Rocket w/ 4-12 30H greenbacks from the 60's, whereas before i liked the Blue alnico's in a 2-12 .

That's sure one pricey quad you got there! Pretty awesome this amp has all this history and the fact that it's essentially a one of kind Rocket.. Maybe it's the only one tweaked this way.

Now stop making us salivate and post a clip!!! :D

I know the gut shot stigma still exists with these amps, and while they are already pretty well documented so there is really no need for further photo's, no one ever says no to an extra photo.

Surely a cab shot wouldn't offend?

I'll try to get a shot of the amp exterior. Haven't any good recording stuff here. May be able to take it to a studio sometime and get something better than a vid cam recording.

If your rocket is named Jillian you are the only one. If not you own the only Rocket I haven't documented in detail.
