The folks who will pay $3500 for a Komet are not in the market for a facsimile. Same with Les Pauls; if a guy wants an R9, only the R9 is good enough no matter how good Edwards/Tokai/et al may be.
I have a Komet clone. Regardless of how good it sounds, nobody who is considering buying a Komet seriously would even consider mine, if I were ever to sell it.
