Cool!! That explains the lack of B+ in the pre-amp section.

But....without that jumper, you should NOT have had voltage at V4&V5, pin 4 nor at the last 40 uf filter cap (C17).

So....something else is funky. Wondering if whatever that is had something to do with your earlier flare-up issues.

Quadruple check all power tube connections against the schematic. Look closely for any "stray" wires (like...strands from OT wires) that may be making contact with V4 & V5, pin 3 that may be making contact with pin4.

I am about to catch a plane and will be out of contact for a while but hope that someone else can jump in and help.

Good luck,
Dave O.

Mike what is that second red wire on B+5 that does not go there that goes under the tone board to the presence pot from the 8 ohm tap on the impedence selector.

one really bad problem is, you have the 100k resistor in the wrong place where the tone cap section is. the 100k goes between the 500pf and the 2- .02 caps. You have the 100k between the 2 --.02 caps, and on the end of the cathode resistor on the end of the board..

Yes resistor R4 is misplaced. Good catch Richie.

Richie your correct, I checked the rest of the board and it appears good on top not sure about the B+ wires below. The cap stack is right.

Yes lets try this one more time and see how it goes Mike.

With the DMM on audible ohms testing continuity mode make sure the B+3, B+4, and B+5 are correct under the board going to the proper turrets.
