Dave, Nice amp and a great implementation. I glanced through the thread and didn't see any transformer specs... did I miss them?

I liked the clips - here are a few items I consider when evaluating a guitar clip.

1) every amp has a sweet spot or two so a great sounding clip is possible while the overall performance of the amp might or might not be represented in one recording.

2) The recording gear and engineering skills of the person recording can certainly make a huge difference so I'm never sure if a recording is entirely gathering all an amp can do... so far I have not conquered this battle myself.

3) Great players can bring things out of an amp that a good player might not know how to find... again, this is not my own strong suit.

From your recordings I think we get a pretty good idea that your amp is sounding quite good. I don't hear the full out assault of an Express, but maybe you didn't dial it up for that. Even though I did hear some bloom that I especially liked, it seems like you were not pushing the amp especially hard??

More recordings would be useful to get the full story, but I'd have to say you did a great job in building an amp that sounds really good and you used almost entirely different parts than everybody else.

For myself I would like to know a bit more about the trannies before I'd suggest swapping any coupling caps.

Thanks for sharing the story and giving us some clips, I really appreciate it when folks do that!

Rj, thanks

The Transfo I use is the ClassicTone by Magnetic Components, Inc.
40-18064 (6.6K - 4/8/16 Ohm Version)
I like the paper layer and the M-19 / 26 gauge steel lamination

40-18065 (120/240V Version) with M6 lamination.

The recording was take with a Sony Cam and convert in MP3, not really the best but it work.

For the next recording, We will take the sound with a zoom, far much better and we will push the amp a little harder !

Thanks for the great comments, it's really appreciate !
