The Trannies have arrived and I have finished installing them. I am still waiting on some pre's that I ordered, but after they're here I'd be happy to post some clips if anyone is still interested.

Sorry that I've been mia. I'll try to get some clips up soon (maybe record a few today while my roommates are gone). It sounds great, though its too loud to really crank up in an apartment setting. I will tell you that I am very pleased. I used the Vintage Spec. OT (single 6600 primaries) which offered less bass of which there is still WAY more than enough, and a bit smoother overdrive and more singing characteristics than the original with dual primaries. I cannot personally compare them with Niks since I ordered it without Trannys. I'll get recording soon. Sound good?

Ok, I feel really lame now... my interface is blown thanks to a power surge so I have to fix it or get it fixed. I had a few very poor clips that didn't show off the actual sound very well, they were too mushy and compressed (I think my mic technique is to blame). It has much more of that singing characteristic than the stock Ceriatone and it is a little less harsh to my ears... that's about it. I'll work on getting the interface up and running but my advice is to either do the upgrade or make one yourself from the chassis up. That's my next next project!
