Hey, I heard that! Sterile water IS bad for your health! :twisted:

BTW, what diode would you guys recommend for this that is fast, small and available?

I used to always use 3- 1n4007's I did it for a good friend who played in EU he called cursing me one day. He had a power tube go and it shorted the diodes somehow, it took them a while in Europe to figure out why the new tubes were not working. Sounded weird to me but made me cautious of using them.

Hmmm, I have heard that before. Is it wise to use these diodes and if so which ones?

More importantly, did they protect the output transformer? If they did, then they worked. Would you reuse a fuse? ;)

I guess it's a matter of learning what they are there for rather than damning them for giving up their life for the cause.
