Hey Dave,

Thanks for the compliments. Terry is a great player/tech/guy. He has done work on 2 of my guitars and I am very happy with the results.

We'll have to get together sometime. My band rehearses in San Mateo at my singer's house. He's right off 92 and Delaware.

Where do you work in RWC?

Hello Dart,
The file that comes up is "m4a.txt". Should I delete the ".txt" suffix when I save it? Sorry to be such a binary idiot.

It'll be a lot simpler if you do. You can also rename it once you get it downloaded. The information in the file won't change but the .txt associates it automatically with a text edit program rather than an audio player.

Best clips I've heard in recent months...good range on those amps. BTW, my PC opened these in Winamp without a problem.

WTF, I give up. When I save the m4a file, it becomes .txt and when I remove the suffix, it says "cannot open". Any ideas folks?

What are you trying to open them with?

Windows is easily confused if there is no application associated with that file extension. I recommend opening it with iTunes, Quicktime, or another media player. Changing the file extension from .m4a to .mp4 might be the ticket if the other options fail.

I am still confused as to why your system assigns a .txt extension to the files. That's just plain old odd.

PM me your email and I can send you the files if that helps.

Do you have iTunes? If not I assume you must be on a PC. Windows doesn't know what to do with m4a's but you could download winamp, that'd play the file.

No guys, I've an IMac. When I click "download", the screen shows a large amount of machine language (I assume). When I click to save the file it adds the ".txt" suffix to the end. I'll PM you for the clips but it still bothers me that the infallible Mac does such things. Thanks.

What browser are you using on your iMac and what version of the OS? I'm a Mac guy, so I can help you here. I'm sure it's a simple issue as I've seen this happen before...even on Windows. It sounds like a setting is wrong in your preferences.

Try right clicking the file and choosing "save as" "save link as" or "save target as," that should give you what you want.

On a Mac that would be a control + click, then select save as or whatever your particular browser uses for this option.

I am running OS 10.4.11, latest Firefox, and it works fine for me. It asks me if I want to open it in iTunes or to save the file.

I have to use Windoze at work, so I'm used to that too.

You can right click on a Mac if you get an aftermarket multi-button mouse
