Well said Glenn,Your absolutely right.I was always into amps since I was 11 yrs old and Im 51 now.I am only about 40 min from Colonia NJ.I wish I had know about TW"s.Im would have taken a ride to play one.And if it was in the early days I would have bought one.All Kens idea"s,the hardwood cabs, female names and of course his built technique were genius. So original.Ken will always be remembered and revered in the amp world. And I have to say Glen your Utubes are what made me want one and why I tried to build them.I still show people your stuff on a weekly basis.Your clips are the benchmark for all wrecks.Simply the best I have ever seen. Thanks so much for doing them,Mikey

Well hard to think this amp ended without any bids. Come on people.
I guess if I was spending that kind of money on an amp I would want to fly out and maybe play it first? just maybe. Although think of the Ebay bucks you would earn on the purchase. :D

My gut feeling is it will eventually (maybe sooner than later) sell off ebay as folks don't like the ebay fees when it comes down to it. Right or wrong it happens these days. I'd surely want to play it and purchase such an amp in person if I were going for it. Wreck deals are like Burst deals and folks don't hesitate to travel a bit to make the deal.

Also I would think the final selling price may come down a bit more, but I'm sure it will still be expensive. That said, there just aren't many others for sale right now and perhaps none that are any cheaper.

Just for fun I changed my express to the "Ingrid" specs. 0.0022 ceramic cap in parallel to C8. 820 ohms resistor soldered to V1pin2 and I also soldered what it looks to me like a 33k resistor to V1pin7.
The amp sounds bigger and rounder than with the "Francesca" specs. Adjusted my lead dress too to look like "Ingrid".
For the people that had a brighter and edgier amp this mods work out great to tame the brightness.

Just saying.. :D

I actually question if the oddities in Ingrid were even done by Ken himself at all. I've never seen a wreck with goop holding down wires. Some near invisible CA glue yes. Perhaps just perhaps the amp has been tinkered with over the years. I've heard this is a possibilty from 2 different sources but maybe they are just false rumors.... Still if I were buying I'd look it over very carefully.

Well, "Trudy" had the parallel caps too, the 820 ohm resistor in V1pin2 has been seen before in other wrecks, actually you posted a letter from Ken, Glen, where it mentions this "mod" and he says that resistor comes in all new Liverpools. The grid resistor in V1pin7 is what was new to me really but being honest it doesn't hurt the amp. Clean to mean is still there, it just sounds bigger.
If you see the video on youtube Glen with Dan Boul he says the amp hasn't been touched and all the solder connections look legit.

Who knows!!

Hi Glenn, I remember seeing gut shots of Ginger which had the wires held down in a similar manner.
Yours Sincerely
