My thoughts about size, for the caps, chassis etc., are purely so that you don't have any problems following the layout!

The other day, a member expressed his experienced view that clones are worth less than the parts they are made with. Building your own clone can really make very little financial sense, but you know that anyway, right?

Yeah I know that, and It was never the goal just to make the cheapest amp 8) Or like Mastercard would say it: "Playing your own built amp: priceless" ;)

Thanks for the links!
I now decided that I will take the Ceriatone Kit, I'll have to expect some tonal losings but it's about the money and these kits are pre assembled, so it's handy for me as an unexperienced builder.
I'll get everything except the PT, OT, tubes and cabinet. Ordering with the trannys shipping cost would be way overpriced, so I take them without and get them here... I have some I wanted to use, but I'm not exactly shure which to choose. As I think, I need a 300-0-300V @ 250mA, 6,3V @ 5A. Is that true?
There is a VOC AC30 tranny with 275-0-275V, is the voltage ok or do I really need 300V up? What about this one? http://www.ig-transformatoren.com/produ ... 4550R.html
Or I get a custom wounded tranny, but I have to see if it's not too expensive...
Okay and the OT, there is a Fender Deluxe one with 6,6k and 20W at 8 Ohm. Or the Hammond 1620A. Or what do I have exactly to look for?

Thanks,

Tom
