The Dumble just wasn't right and there was no hiding it. That amp's tone last year was much, much better. It really should have been serviced before bringing it to the show. No point in showing off an expensive amp that sounds ill. Suzanne was overly bright, thin, and lacked girth. Maybe it was the speakers, but again an amp that may have just needed to be cranked up louder or worked more from the guitar. Hard to say at this point, but I was equally as underwhelmed this year as last. The Liverpool did sound quite good, but only got to check it out for about 2 minutes.

Again, none of these amps were horrid. Comparing them to their modern counterparts is an eye opener though. I would bet a lot you here would have had the same experience with these amps. You know how a good Dumble or Wreck clone can be, we've heard Glen do his magic with real Wrecks, and there is plenty of Dumble tracks to compare your builds to as a reference.

Anyway, if you get the chance to go the many different Amp Shows, you'll hear for yourselves. It's a great experience and I highly recommend going.

Man I would love to get to these amp shows to see all this gear and meet you Ampgarage people that would be fun.

Sure wish Vintage Guitar Mag would host something in North Dakota since thats were they are located but nothing much happens in that department.

I've always wanted to go to an amp show. Talk about sensory overload.
