No, I took out the Lift. Honestly, I struggled with this for a bit. I didn't like the tone it was putting out when the Lift was engaged. Too stinking harsh and strident. Also, there seemed to be about 10db boost in volume....way to much for me. So I added a pot to the Lift circuit to dial down the volume discrepancy a bit. Worked great to lower the volume, but still was too harsh. I tried strapping on a cap-to-ground in order to dump off some of the high frequencies. This really didn't work either. I was about ready to scrap the Lift feature and rip out the footswitch when Jelle here on the forum offered a great idea. He said basically to forget about the Lift function, and turn it into a Mid boost similar to what a dumble would use, as in #124 schematic found in the Dumble files section.

Thank you Jelle!! I'm continually grateful for this forum, and people like Jelle who offer their expertise.

The attached schematic highlights Jelle's recommended change. Also note the added bright switch. It's always been there, but just forgot to add it to the drawing. I know it may seem a little redundant on this amp, but I really like the ability to brighten things up with a dark guitar, like this ES-335 I've been playing a lot lately.

Bump!!!

After a lot of water in the sea, and some serious consultations with the guitar delinquent himself ( AKA my son ), I've finally decided that a Reverb Rocket is the way to go.
Thus my question - is that last schematic representative for the final result, in terms of schematic accuracy, component values, etc...???
Also - since I'm the electronics geek and he's the player..and I've got to keep some things to myself until the result appears...
would one want to have any of the effects functions, like reverb, mid boost etc, on a foot pedal?

BTW - this is most likely going to be an EL84 output section with VVR....
any suggestions about regulating the whole amp, - just the output, - or...????

Thanks!!
- but I still have some futher questions:
does anyone have the original Visio file - or some dimensions I can scale to?
Is the tone switch 2-way - or 3?

This amp was built in a 16 x 8 x 2 Normster.

I do not have an original visio will need to get ahold of normster.

Rawnster used the tone switch on his seen in the schematic. I used a two way 100pf and 250pf and added a boost switch 10uf/25v cap from V1b cathode to ground.

To be honest, the 'tone' switch was over-kill on that amp. That is, .1uf cap sounds sonically harsh and thus is never used. On subsequent amps, I've replaced the .1uf with a higher midrange boost for soloing.
