Looks great Ron!

That's a nice color combo as well. I built a DC30 head for a guy a few years back in that same combination. I was tempted to keep it looked so nice.

Dang ... that looks awesome. It so nice to see the faceplaces made out ... they look so much better in context on the amp as opposed to when I had it in illustrator.
Okay, okay ... it sounds cool, but does it look cool?

Thanks guys! Black is still the new Black. :) Pretty cool looking. I'm definitely building one for myself now.

Thanks Hendo, for your Illustrator magic. Very old-school chic! 8)

Be sure to give yourself enough room in the baffle for a 2x10 option. ;)

They might almost fit the cabinet that you have now (on the diagonal).

Thanks Tom. I tweaked the PI last night and tried some KT77's. Very nice! Much nicer overdrive tones--tighter low end. Perhaps KT66s have a touch better clean sheen, but overall, the KT77s may stay in this amp.

Hmmm, I should try different power tubes.
I have just always kind of stuck with the 6L6 or 6V6 flavors.
I do have one amp that is 4 x EL84 that will blister paint.

Nice amp Rawnster, I've been thinking about converting my Express into a Rocket/Rockster type amp. I also am a fan of reverb and have used the 1 tube reverb and liked it. Did you use a mix resistor and series it in the circuit or run it to the non-inverting side of the PI Vox- Matchless style?

Thanks for that. I thought you used a single tube reverb. I'm going to copy yours if you don't mind.

I don't mind at all. One edit on the schematic is that I'm actually using a 1k2 resistor on the reverb driver cathode, not 820ohms. The reason is simple, I didn't have one on hand when I put it together. However, I think biasing the tube slightly cooler is part of the subtlety of the reverb effect that I really really like. It's your call though. Either way it'll sound very good.

I don't see anything on the schematic showing your "Lift" option. Are you lifting the connection to ground below the bass pot, leaving the mid pot functional?
