lower Rocket overdrive

Post by andrew »

Hello, I know one of the features of Trainwrecks is to be able to work the guitar volume pot to control overdrive but what if I wanted my Rocket to stay clean with the guitar volume turned up full. I would rather get overdrive with a pedal than working the guitar volume pot. My pickups are "vintage output" and I split the coils. Any help please. Thank you.

Easy way is to lower the gain of the V1 and V2 buy using 12AT7, 5751, 12AY7, 12AU7 in those sockets.

I use a 12AT7 in V1 only and the Rocket is already pedal friendly so I have had no problem using pedals. But I generally only use a booster pedal and Boss Reverb pedal not a distortion pedal on my Rocket.

You might want to experiment with the split load information that is posted in the tech section.
That sounds like a real good option to kill some gain in the pre section.
