That 820R resistor on some of the Express Schematics
What's with that 820R resistor between the wiper of the volume control and the grid of the 2nd triode on some of the Express schematic files. ( Ver A0, A1, A2, A3, A4) It looks like a grid stopper but I don't know if it's also performing some other function. I've heard of adding this resistor on other amps but don't recall the reason. Is this one for preventing oscillation?
If it says "Vintage" on it, -it isn't.

It's hard to imagine an additional 820 ohms will have any effect.

It works more to uniform the pot sound on the whole excursion than as grid stopper.
