I've never heard a real Trainwreck...

Post by philmanatee »

I just showed my express clone to some friends at a music store. The tech had played one of the early expresses and said my clone nailed the sound :D . I still want to hear a real one. Oh, gnugear I was playing it through a marshall slant cab with some reissue greenbacks, very nice, but I could never have that volume at the gigs I do. Phil

Hi Phil,
Check the files section here for the video clips that were posted by geetarpicker, 4 of them total, 2 with a strat 2 with a les paul. They give a great example of what the real thing sounds like!!!!

Also if you go to Komet amps there is a file on there sounds page of a real wreck express,

Thanks
Chris

Phil, Greg, Jon, and I had Francesca for a couple of hours. Trust me...taking pictures wasn't all we were doin'
My build and the ones recently built using that layout sound just like Francesca. I think ours are slightly better due to the age of Frannys caps and tubes. If you use Frannys layout exactly and the same parts, I'm willing to say that you will have one that sounds just like the original too.!

Allyn,

I'm assuming the tubes in Francesca were Mullards?
