Maple Rocket

Post by 67plexi »

second Rocket build. I made this one for a gift, but JM Rolph said it was to much of a gift so I will use two on stage. The Rocket has become my
favorite guitar amp of all time.

67plexi,

Nice build. I haven't tried that style of wire in a new build.

So you decided not to use the 100k 3W resistors from filter cap to ground huh?

I agree, they are very sweet sounding amps.

Is that a real Dynaco 470 output or a clone?

Also, Are those Groove-Tubes? I am curious what your favorite tube compliment is for this unit?

Great job... wouldn't mind seeing some more of that Maple cabinet too.

Rocket, Got it tuned up today the EL-84 are just for break in.
Used a Rib plate Telefunken ecc803s V-1, Mullard 12ax7 V-2, Telefunken smooth plate Ecc803s V-3. I tried Brimar's , Mullard's RCA's 7025's, Amperex. and others. Sorry for the filthy chassis shot it is clean now.
Changed the Mullard GZ-34 to a RCA Made in USA GZ-34.
I used WIMA .047uf 1000v and like the sound more Hifi clean no hum or hiss It should record well.
