The Trainwreck is one great looking amp no matter how all of us change things and venture into experiementing on the circuits. I hope you guys and gals are having as much fun as I am.
Tube rectifier on this one. Really I am just following pictures, schematics and advice. No artistic license has been earned yet.
I am amazed at the open and helpful people here. Very nice place you got here...very nice indeed.
So this build, the DONNA ROCKET, is my first ever amp build and really my first major electronics build. I did install a light fixture in our attic and replaced a fuse and preamp tube once. LOL.
I have a 4-day weekend coming up and will continue the build. Pictures will be posted in the hopes that any major mistakes will be noticed by the gang and pointed out. By the way there is a significant component missing from the board. Anyone notice it yet? I wasn't sure it was the correct component so I left it off...my bad..I should have trusted Allyn.
Did you drill that hole for the rectifer socket yet. Now I remember, since I have a good hole saw kit I am sure that I used my drill press with a 1 inch hole saw (or what ever size) your sockets are. But if you don't have access to the drill press and hole saw the step drill will work well. Just clamp that chassis down.
I'm sure you may have known all this stuff I blabbed about but one never knows.
