Roeckt head cab, errr, drawer

Post by sliberty »

Thanks so much to those who brought this idea to light. I purchased one of those custom drawers from Woodcraft, along with a 24"x3"x1/8" cherry vaneer to cut down for the face plate. I also bought a small piece of poplar from Home Depot to cut down for the valance. Total cost, including stain and poly is under $80 including shipping. If I owned a router and had the skills, I would have rounded the edges, but even without that touch, I am very happy with the results.

In these rough economic times, this is a very good alternative to the gorgeous but expensive head cabs that are usually associated with Trainwreck style amps. Maybe down the road, I'll get a "proper" cab for my Rocket (I have one for my Express), but for now, I am really happy. It was also sort of fun to assemble it and finish it off.

[Yes I know my stanby is missing - I don't have the switch yet. Besides, what you can't see is that the whole chassis is empty - I haven't started the build yet)
