New to Twreck

Post by bradpeterson »

Im new to the site.

I read gnugear's post over at the Metroamp forum on how amazing his Trainwreck clone sounds. Then I came here and listened to some clips. Im amazed.

Now I want to build an Express clone. (I already built a Marshall '69 clone from Metroamp).

Does anyone have any advice?

I'm new around here, but I know that you have come to the right place. Here is my .02: For transfomers, Moose has the best deal. And for chassis, I got mine from Ron. Search through the threads on this forum and you will find most of what you need. I am waitng for a few more parts and will be building an Express style amp myself in the coming days. I will post pics and clips when finished.

Hi Brad, Welcome. Download the pictures of Francesca from the downloads section. Download also the schematic A1B, and Kelly '90.

Nik from Ceriatone has a great deal on prepunched ready to go Chassis and Moose (TW member) has Trannys that work great at a great price.

Read the posts concerning all the recent builds. They are based on Francesca and many are exact duplicates. Ask plenty of questions. Everyone here is good for help.

So true. These guys remind me very much of the guys at 18watt.com. Heck, some of 'em are from there. Great group here for sure!

Thanks guys.

I downloaded the pictures and I also downloaded the Richie diagram.

Where can I get the other parts such as boards, faceplates, cabinet, and other misc parts?

I just used a hammond chassis from tubesandmore.com. You can also get them from mouser and they're only $30. My transformers came from moose and if they were available at the time, I definitely would have bought some pre cut and staked boards. The beauty of the wreck is that it's not really expensive to build ... especially when you compare it to a Marshall!

I think you'll have a blast building one, and the tone is to die for! :)

Check with member UR12. He makes incredible authentic boards at low prices! Chassis I'd get from Nik @ ceriatone. Prepunched and they fit Mooses trannies. They will fit in an authentic sized cabinet also.

I ordered the transformers from Moose and will order the turret boards and chassis this week.

Does anyone have a parts list?
