Hello, i have of people "trainwrecking" an amp and i am just wondering, how do you trainwreck an amp? What does it involve? What are you taking from the trainwreck? and anyother questions i should ask but haven't?

I haven't "trainwrecked" an amp, but would think that the primary thing is dropping in a TW preamp. It is designed, if tweaked properly, to hit the power tubes with enough un-distorted signal so that the PTs are the first point of distortion.
That's why most folks just turn it up to 12 to one oclock on the TW volume and use the guitars volume. As soon as the guitars volume is past 1-2 or so, the amp is at near full (but very clean) volume. After that, you control the clean to mean with it.

The preamp is pretty important to an amp, so whats parts of the trainwreck preamp can be used whilebeing able to leave the rest of the preamp of the amp that you are "trainwrecking"?
